Just in time for the Jewish New Year, HaMoked is launching our first crowdfunding campaign and we need your help.

The campaign will enable us to advocate for family unification for West Bank families, who have asked for our help:

• Saida met her husband when he came to Ramallah to work as a business consultant.
• Saleh met his wife while he was working in Jordan.
• Christo met his wife when she came to Ramallah to teach at the music conservatory.

Every family has its own unique story. What they share is that Israel has denied the foreign spouse any legal status in the West Bank. As a result, thousands of families live in a constant state of uncertainty and instability. Every time they are stopped at an Israeli checkpoint, the "foreign" spouse is at risk of arrest and deportation.

HaMoked has extensive experience advocating for Palestinians' residency rights. We know that strategic litigation and advocacy can help individual families – and also change the broader, discriminatory policy.

בפרוס השנה החדשה, המוקד להגנת הפרט משיק את קמפיין מימון ההמונים הראשון שלו וזקוק לעזרתכם. הקמפיין יאפשר לנו להמשיך ולהיאבק למימוש זכותם של תושבי הגדה המערבית לאיחוד משפחות.

עשרות משפחות פנו אלינו בבקשה לסיוע:

• סעידה הכירה את בעלה שזה הגיע לרמאללה במסגרת עבודתו כיועץ עסקי
•  סאלח הכיר את אישתו בזמן שעבד בירדן
• כריסטו הכיר את אישתו כשהגיעה ללמד בקונסרבטוריון למוסיקה ברמאללה.

לכל משפחה הסיפור הייחודי שלה. המשותף לכל הסיפורים הוא שישראל מונעת מעמד חוקי בשטחים מתושבי חו"ל שנישאו לתושבי הגדה המערבית. כתוצאה מכך, אלפי משפחות חיות בחוסר ודאות לגבי עתידן. כל מעבר שלהן במחסומים הפרושים ברחבי הגדה עלול להסתיים במעצרו וגירושו של בן הזוג ה"זר".
 

למוקד להגנת הפרט ניסיון נרחב בקידום זכויותיהם של פלסטינים תושבי השטחים הכבושים. אנו סבורים כי בכוחה של אסטרטגיה משפטית נבונה לסייע למשפחות שפנו אלינו ואף להביא לשינוי המדיניות המפלה.
